    A Newly Discovered Ability.

Someone who I know recommended a camera to me (the Nikon D40x) so one day I went to a store, played around with it and decided to buy it. This was the only camera I had ever owned and I knew nothing about digital photography. My decision to buy it was rather impulsive but...

I make slideshow videos of my photos when I travel which I put on you tube. I have received a few compliments on them but one guy left a nasty comment. I have not had any photography training so my judgment as to what distinguishes a good photo from a bad one may be flawed. I...

    I have a question- I'm looking into buying a

strobe light for an on-location shoot I'm doing. We are doing the shoot on an island so that the city on the mainland will be in the background. The shoot will be at night so the city lights are visible... But obviously the subjects need to be illuminated since this will be at...

    Photography

Photography has been my life's passion. I am going to go to college and study photography. I already photograph bands in my free time, but I really want to make my photography better, and stand out more.Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/lizziemurder/

It doesn't matter if I have a thousand dollar

camera or a phone camera, I suck. I need to learn about lighting, angles, shutter speed, etc. before my photos begin to speak to me...

I am going on a trip to Iceland soon,

and I would really like a wide-angle lens (I'm thinking 28mm) but because I am also a starving college student I would like a lens that I could also use for portraiture for my business... I'm wondering if I should stick with a fixed 28mm lens, or if I should go for the 28-135mm...
