My dorm mate has been asking me to proof read

his writing for spelling and grammatical errors. He has dyslexia, and since writing is my major, he's been asking me to help not only in his essays, but in a story he would like to publish. I only have the first four paragraphs, but it has been fun editing. It's been helping me...

Ashes To Ashes, Dust To Dust.

I have decided to write my experiences from my journals. The idea is to have short stories and poems dealing with my journey after the divorce, to this place I am now. I would love if you could read this, and tell me what you think. Is it worth my time to continue with the...

My Throat Ties Knots Around Itself And I Can't Say A Word.

When I speak of something important, every sound trips over itself until my sentences turn into a blended mass of sharp, confused, jutting, distressed syllables. Equally, when I write, my fingers just stumble around, feeling keys and paper and pen for some hint of the right words...

    No Passion

Without passion, heart, and soul writing is nothing more than words on a blank screen. No feeling, no meaning, and no thought to be understood.  I have lost the spark.

    Grandmother Weaver

"Grandmother, why do you talk to yourself?" The old woman's eyes drank in the small form of the youth. "To keep them away child." Curious innocence stared back at her "Who's them?" A feigned surprise stretched some of the wrinkles that marked the elder's face. "The sheep of...

I think the best way to improve your writing

skills is to read. Read as many books as possible and you will notice your mind is able to put things into words in new and interesting ways. The more literary influences you have, the more interesting your writing will be. I've noticed this is true of myself anyway.

Can anyone help me with writing?

Writing a story is overwhelming. I get caught up in details and pacing and transitions. How do you do it? I really feel like I have stories to tell, and I've been told I'm a good writer but when it comes to writing a story, I choke. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

    Death And Bridges

Micheal closed his eyes took a deep breath, and jumped. He wasn't afraid of falling, he was only afraid of what would happen next. What if this didn't work? He didn't want to live the rest of his life in a hospital bed. He knew it was stupid to kill himself over simple problems...

    Fifty Shades Of English

Some Thoughts From An Experience Writer
