I Want to Know What Was Your Favorite Thing About the 80's

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 116 People

    What I Liked

Mainly I liked the puffy, big hair dos that a lot of women wore back then. I thought, and still think, that it is very sexy. I also liked the music. The 80s were when great rock and roll started to die.

    The Music, Me

yeah, I don't remember much about the 80's but I existed for a little over half of it. I like 80's music though. I'm sure there's more, but it's a good start.

    Such Memories

When I think of my childhood in the 80's this warm, smooth feeling seems to flood thru every inch of my body and I am transported back to a time of fashlight tag, big league chewing gum and Garbage Pail Kids.  Images of My Little Ponies, Cabbage Patch dolls and Atari...

    My Life In The 80's...

I was about 11 years old when my step dad was between jobs, and then got one in construction. We didn't have the money to buy or rent a house, but my step dad was big into wilderness living. So, that summer of 1981, I lived in the mountains... That was a FUN time, to my memory...

    A Unique Decade...

I was a little girl in the 80s so I have not experienced much  but I do remember that it was a very comforting, magical time for me. For me everything about it was special. The toys, the music, the fashion, the slang, the people, the way the colors were displayed....It was...

I was born in the mid-80's, so I only got into TMNT a little closer to the 90s, but I digress!! I still believe they were the best thing to come out of that era. Yes, I am biased because it was my favourite childhood cartoon. Dear 1980's: While I find it difficult to forgive you...

    Being young. No cable

or Internet. Listening to 80's music, and Saturday morning cartoons. Riding my bike on the street. Taping music over the radio. Being young with everything in front of you, hanging with your friends, and having all your loved ones alive and heathy.

    It's a Toss-up

I can't choose between graduating highschool in '85 or the hard rock and metal music from the 80's. Graduating was huge but the music helped shape my life and who I am today.

I will make this post a bit more diverse, sorry: 1. The good & the bad ONE (they go hand by hand): Either good or A LOT of "EF'd" up annoying music: I won't deny that there is stuff that had their best moment, like the king and queen of pop, Metallica, Motley Crue. On the other...
