Does anybody here need to loss 100 pounds or more ; or am I the only one? I've lost 8 so far either due to being sick with an infection or being newly dianosed with Diabetes (I don't know which). I'll take the loss whatever the cause.

If you need to loose over 100 pounds, please respond-don't be shy!

I need to lose about 140#.  I hate being over weight. I tried numerous diets, excercising, and just about everything else. I can't lose the weight. I get so frustrated at myself and get so depressed about it. You are not alone.

I commend you on  being so brave to have the survery.  I probably need to lose as much weight as you are trying to lose.  How did you come to that decision?  I have considered it, but don't know much about it and have only heard the dangers (not trying to scare you).  Can you provide some insight?

I hope that everything is going well for you and you are safe.  Take care.

I am in the same situation as you.  140lbs would be about right for me to lose in order to be healthy.  I am not inactive or anything like that, I just struggle with trying to stay committed.  I work very hard about 12 hours a day and am also back in school to get my Bachelor's.  I guess it is just so easy to be tired and sit on the couch when I have a free minute.  I am so frustrated with myself sometimes that I can't stand it.

I thought I'd make an update post since I started this post topic. I've lost 12 pounds so far. I'm down to 281 now. Only half of me to go yet. I'm strickly following my diabetes diet to try to keep my blood sugar levels in balance (doing pretty good, but not as good as they should be, but good for a newly diagnoised diabetic), and the weight is coming off due to that. Keeping my carbs between 30 to 45 per meal is doing the trick for me. That automatically makes small portions and elliminates the pasta and rice(2 of my favorite things to eat). You can only have 1/3 cup of pasta or rice as a serving and that's nothing as far as I see it. I rather go without than just have a tiny teaser like 1/3 cup. With only 1/3 cup being considered a serving that means that I used to be eatting 9 to 12 servings at a time before when I had strouganoff or shaggetti. Oh my God, now wonder I weighted 293!!! My serving portions were way out of perportion! Some people eat to live, I live to eat and it shows! I mean it's plain and simple, I love to eat! I even dream about food and eatting. I dream that places that I go have tables piled with endless food just waiting to be consumed, it's free and I can have all I want. It's a recurring dream and only the place changes.  Does this happen to anybody else? Or am I the only one obcessed with foods?

Anyway, I'm glad I've lost 12 pounds so far. It's the start of a longs way to go.

Oh my, thats so what i would love to get done. Iv got to loose about 100lbs and as soon as i start to loose something in my life goes wrong and i turn to food. I belive that having the op would help not being able to eat. How did you find out where to go, its so expensive and i dont think my doctor would approve, not been a this surgery long! Well you might be feelig nervous but i wish you all the love in the world, you will be fine.

I had been 330 and got down to 180 after having gastric bypass 7-1/2 years ago.  Due to overeating, pregnancy, and psychiatric meds I am back up to 270.  I am ashamed and embarassed.  I have to get healthy.  My actual "health" problems arent too bad.  My psych problems are worse.  I just don't know if I am ready to get back on board (more like bored) with concentrating on my health/appearance.

I'd hate to admit my actual weight, but I will say I need to lose quite a bit more than 100 pounds.

As of March of this year I needed  to lose 200 lbs, presently I have about 80 to go. I started with a little exercise and tight calorie restrictions and am now running 6 miles plus a day. I have all the typical stereo-types of an over-weight person. Over-weight all my life, tried every diet, over-weight family members, failed over and over, etc. Of the 80 remaining 40 is fat and 40 is excess skin. Surgery is the only way to lose the skin and I hope to have the last 40 (of fat) gone by Feb-March of next year (maybe sooner).

I just want to say - it can be done. And that if there's one redeeming thing that over-weight people get that skinny people don't - it's the absolute joy/thrill/satisfaction of losing weight and turning so much of your life in a positive direction.

Wow..this is my 1st post here.  I am 37, weigh 265lbs ( i have never admitted that to anyone) and am 5'5"  I am morbidly obese.  I want so desperately to have some kind of weight loss surgery but my insurance company won't cover it.  I don't understand why they will cover all of the treatments and medications to treat things that weight gain causes like high bood pressure, diabetes, heart disease etc.  But they won't cover a one time surgery that would allow me to attain a healthier life and eliminate those dangerous conditions that I currently have.  I would give anything to be able to have gastric bypass or lapband surgery.  If only there was a way....

For my weekly update, I have now lost 16 pounds-up 4 pounds from last week. I seem to lose 4 pounds a week. Of course, I prefer more, but I'll take the 4 because that's 4 more than I was losing before. So it's 16 down and 137 to go.

I need to loose 80 pounds. I have tried working with a personal trainer, too expensive. I am widow, hard living on less income.  Looking for some ideas that are not so expensive. I do not have family here, all up to me to find what would work.

I am so happy for you that you are losing weight. That is what I need to do because of myself and for my family. I have 2 boys 5 and 3 years old. It is just so hard. It seems that I  don't have enough disciplin to do it and then stick to it. I'm happy for everybody who is able to do it!

Hi. Idon't have 100 pounds to lose, but I do need to loose 60.  Which seems like a million...For the past 10 years I have been battling my emotions...eating my way thru every crisis...Over the past few months I have decided to become more healthier.  I just can't face another diet...I become obsessed with food and what portion or food group is next.  I am so tired of being in that rut.  I so b adly want to feel good about my body.
