| Fresh Poster  | on 10:23AM at Sep 17th, 2009 Hi, I lost 35 lbs about 7 years ago. If you are not doing any exercise I would start doing some, even just walking will help some. What I did for dieting was: each day I would only have 1 serving of carbs. I would have like eggs for breakfast, and then maybe a soup for lunch. If that had pasta or something in it then I would just have like a grilled chicken over salad, and the dressing on the side. Usually honey mustard or french. Or I would sometimes have the grilled chicken over salad at lunch, and maybe a couple slices of pizza and a salad for dinner. Sundays was an off day where I could have more then 1 carb, just not go nuts with it. Took me about 2 - 3 months to lose the 35lbs, and that was without exercising. I was also using Equal in my coffee, instead of sugar, etc...

I lose my weight by detoxifcation and control diet.
Detoxification will help the body to cleanse the digestive system. After detoxificaion, then i control my diet using meal replacements.

here's an idea for you. start a food diary. write down absolutely everything you take in during the day.
you have to think of food as FUEL as opposed to something to fill you up. it's important to be nutritous. all the food groups! especially dairy.
also, just work out everyday. it doesn't have to be hours and hours at the gym. just a half hour walking on the treadmill can help. (my mom lost almost 100 pounds doing that!)
so basically.. nutrition, and small bits of exercise a day. (: message me if you'd like any more info. |

I'm 45 years old and been fighting with my weight for years and I'am tired of the yo-yo effect: every new fantastic diet i'd try i would lose a few kilos to then get them back with an extra 2 or 3 more!!!
So I started to study nutrition, how body's work, etc. Now i've learned so much that i understand that miracle diets and pills do not exist. You need to know the facts about how your body works, and how to lose weight in a natural way.

I strongly recommend to do some exercise - for example walking as wrote wannabskinny - just walk instead of drive, use stairs instead of elevator,...
I hope you understand that losing weight is about long-term goals and changing your lifestyle - no diet will work for only two months, then there is high probability to gain your kilos back.

That's when motivation becomes a real ***** because it's easier to stay excited about something that's FAST.
The 3 best peices of advice to stay on the wagon I have found are:
1. Have a partner. that gives you accountability and..
2. Keep track. OF EVERYTHING.
3. Small, regular snacks - avoid the crash - it's BAD.
Use a suggested meal plan from a proven program like weightwatchers or flatbelly (both very different). Most people think they know all they need to about nutrition and almost all of them are DEAD WRONG. You don't want any gaps in you nutrition ballance. ALWAYS take a good quality multivitamin - you will be eating less food - don't give yourself a defficiency.
High protien / low carb programs work really well but if you do that don't forget the regular snacks even if you're not hungry. 5 small meals a day is a good rule of thumb. Otherwise you will hit a hypoglycemic crash that will test your willpower (hunger), make your body conserve calories (instead of burning them) and just generally make you grumpy and useless.
Don't forget healthy fats and keep in mind that most fruits and vegetables are loaded with carbs too.
