    Parsley, Chives, Rosemary And Thyme

These are the herbs I have that so far survived the winter, but are all in fairly small pots. I have been reading about how great parsley is for you, and intend to grow a lot more this year. I hope to move to a place where I can actually plant in the ground. If not, it will have...

    Starting Small

This spring I'm starting small, but I'm starting!  I started reading about herbs and gathering books on the subject this past year.   I live in an apartment, but I have a patio and I'm going to do a container garden with a few interesting herbs.   I'm...

    Taragon

I have a nice little herb garden growing in pots on my deck.  I like to make my own herb flavored vinegars.  Taragon is my favorite but I make one with sage, basil, and majoram for use with spaghetti and salad.  To make a vinegar you put the herbs in a container then poor a...

    My First Herb!

I just planted my first herb!  I bought a nice fragrant rosemary plant and put it in a big pot on my porch this afternoon.  It smells wonderful.  I'm hoping it will be a cute little "tree" by Christmas. Next is going to be mint.  And there is a...

    Blue Black Thumb

No, I can't grow anything! I've tried and tried, but I only kill things. I would love to grow an herb garden. I use herbs for all sorts of things including their medicinal and magickal properties. I am great at drying them, but I really wish I could grow them too.

    Every Year

When I was courting my sweetie, many years ago, she had bought flowers to plant outside and lots of herbs.  I wanted to spend time with her so I came over to her place to help her plant flowers.  It took all day (actually two days, it was over a weekend).  I never planted so...

    Mint!

As much as I like other herbs, such as rosemary, basil, thyme, etc. my favorite is mint. Yes, I know it has a vicious habit of taking over herb gardens, but I can't bring myself to mind too much. Mint tea is my favorite and I have wonderful memories of going outside to...
