    Noses To The Sky, Everybody...

I was a radar operator in the army. 62nd HAWK Anti-Aircraft, Delta Battery in Essentho, then West Germany... Charlie and Delta were housed in Essentho and were operational for two weeks, Alpha and Bravo were at Korbach and took the other two weeks. When being stand-by, sometimes...

I spent 2 1/2 years in the Army

as a 19D. I was stationed at Ft. Benning GA. Kelly Hill. HHC 1/30th 3rd Inf Brigade. I enjoyed serving as wish I would have been able to stay in. I was Medically discharged in 1998. I still miss Army life more than anything in the world.

    Thank You For Your Service

So, I've been in the Army for six years. I've loved every minute of it. On several occasions I've had people come up to me and thank me for my service....even got hugged while in uniform. On one such occasion I was waiting in line at a Hallmark.....Mother's Day card in hand. A...

    And That Sucked!

In the country I live, either military service or non-military service is obligatory for all men. I chose military service even though I wasn't motivated at all. I'm not interested in weapons or anything related, so it was all just boring s***. Luckily the service lasted only...

    My War In a Nutshell

I find it rather ironic that I was more nervous about going to Basic than I was going to war.  I understand there there were certain issues governing each individual departure--for example, when I was leaving for Basic, it would be the longest and farthest I had ever...

    About Me

British armoured cavalry. One of those snooty regiments, hundreds of years old (older than the USA by 100 years). Heavy tanks (or MBT's as we called them).  Managed 9 years in total before deciding to try life as a civvy again.  Wish I'd stayed in now.

    Free

I joined the British Army straight out of high school at the age of 16 as I wanted to get on with my life rather than spend more time in education. I was recommended to work in Military Intelligence which I was very happy about at the time as I was expecting to be infiltrating...
