I Was Spanked As A Child Forum & Chat Board | I Get Really Insecure When My Boyfriend Doesn't Answer A Text

  As convenient as texting is, there are many times when I find myself nostalgic for the days when the only way to get in touch with someone was by phone. Although I'm a huge texter and prefer it to every other form of communication except talking to someone in person, I can really drive myself crazy when someone doesn't respond to my texts, particularly my boyfriend.

   Basically this started due to a bad relationship I had a few years ago. The guy was totally into me...way too into me for the amount of time we'd been seeing each other, actually. All of a sudden, with no warning, he went completely cold. The first signs that things weren't going well were he stopped initiating texting with me and didn't always respond when I texted. Then he vanished on me. It took a few days for me to realize this because I had gotten used to him not replying to texts. Four months later he was back wanting another chance; but the damage had already been done. Since then I've been fearful that every guy I date will leave me the same way.
   Take today, for instance. I texted my boyfriend to tell him something. Okay, he sometimes sleeps late, so I didn't panic when he didn't reply right away. As the day wore on and I knew he'd have to be up by now, I was starting to get nervous...WTF? right? I reasoned that  he was probably busy, and maybe he didn't really feel my text had required an answer, but by early evening I already had that sinking sensation and was conjuring up all sorts of explanations for his silence. Even though he's absolutely crazy about me and shows it in a multitude of ways, I was certain he'd decided he didn't want to date me anymore and was just going to disappear like that long ago lover. I finally went and had dinner, and when I finished I noticed I had a message, and it was him, telling me he missed me. Duh.

  I hope I'm not the only one on here who is completely insane this way.

 

I woke up this morning, feeling the same way. the past few days, my boyfriend and i haven't been responding to each others' texts as fast as we used to. it's like, we've become busy, and responding isn't priority anymore. but i woke up this morning, and texted him around 8:30, and still waiting for reply... it's 9:46 and usually he wakes up early cause his work is around 7 everyday and today his brother leaves, so i know he must be awake. albeit they did watch a 10:00 movie last night at theaters but i am still buggin! why does he do this to me?
