    Me Too!

They always shoot me down! I don't weigh enough. I miss out by like 3 lbs. Is that really such an issue?

    Constantly Turned Away....

I have some scars, a lot of scars to be honest... some of these are from abuse, others are from when I self-harmed (which I am recovering from so please no one jump at me over this, it's a coping mechanism a bad one I'll admit but it kept me alive) and due to these scars I will...

    New Tattoo

I tried to give at work when the blood drive van came round, but I had just got a tattoo so they turned me down. On one hand, it sems kind of pointless, but if I were on the other end of the transfusion, I'd sure be thankful that they took as many precautions as they do.

Last time I tried to donate blood they had me fill out a questionaire first. Have you ever had hepatitis, this that or the other disease, or STD? My answers were all no. Then there was the question do you or have you ever injected certain illegal drugs? Uhhhh, yes, I shot up...

I was turned down once for having an elevated temp. It was only slightly over the limit, but no way.

    I Had a Sniffle.

Actually it was the tail end of a full blown cold.  I was mostly over it, but still had a few symptoms.  They told me that they couldn't use my blood. In a way, I'm glad.  I do want our blood supply to be safe.  I would not want to be the next "Typhoid...

    No Homos Allowed

As soon as I checked the "I have had sexual relations with another man" box I know I was going to be rejected.  Haha.  And I was.

    Many Times.

Donating blood doesn't affect me physically negatively in any way, and not everyone is that lucky, so I think it is important that I try to donate blood pretty regularly. The first time I was old enough to donate blood and they had a drive at my high school, I donated and...

    It's a Shame.

I was in England during that time period, so I haven't even tried to donate. It is important to keep the blood supply safe, so I understand why they wouldn't want my donation. I've got great veins though! Edited to add: A link about donation criteria in the United States...

My Friend Was In An Accident...

Shortly out of high school a friend of mine was in a very serious car accident.  Two of her friends in the car were killed and she was in a coma for six months.  I went in to donate blood and have it credited to her account and I was turned down.  My sister had had...
