Sayings In My Old Boarding School

Talking over our school days with my 2 wonderful friends Rachel and Oliver we have agreed that our school was really more of a co-ed St. Trinians than Malory Towers. Although we never robbed the National Gallery. We got to talking about different sayings we had in our day at the...

    4 Years At Boarding School

I was the new boy in 2nd year in secondary school (high school) I was nervous although I did my best to hide it. However I was amoung experts at detecting that the new kid would be nervous. They were thankfully very kind to me. I boarded for 4 years and really enjoyed my time...

Hello! I'm writing an article about changing

trends in early boarding education and, as a Fay school alum, have been able to interview a number of former boarding students who were my peers (now in their forties). I'd really like to hear the perspective of students who went away (before age 15) for the first time within...

Loved My Weird Boarding School For Weird Kids

I went to a public boarding high school for academically accelerated and artistic kids. I had never fit in at any of my other schools before, and I was basically miserable. I left home for boarding school and at first it was really hard to be away from home, but I got...

    Military School

I went to a Military school and there were a lot of eye opening experiences. I actually get erotically excited by some of them. The school was great and I learned a lot there. I would not trade the experience for anything.

I went to an English public school and was a boarder from the term of my ninth birthday until the month before my eighteenth. For the benefit of any non-Brit reading this, in the U.K. a public school is not that - it's private, exclusive and expensive. Mine wasn't one of the...

    First Night Back!

Its my first night back in prison aka boarding school. It's not that bad I suppose. I have a lot more freedom here. I should be in bed asleep for example but I know nobody will check for at least 15 mins. There are good and bad times here. We never get a snow day as we're already...

    I Miss It

I miss boarding school so much. I went for a few years, but had to leave before my Senior year. My best memories were at that small, private boarding school tucked away in the mountains of the East Coast. Sadly, as each day passes, my memory of it fades a little more. I still...

    Bitter Sweet Memories

    Midnight Feasts

When I'm asked if we had midnight feasts, I have to answer yes....kind of. They weren't the kind you read about in books and weren't at midnight. Some of them weren't even at school. There wasn't any bar or club nearby so we used to sneak out and get drunk in the woods. All the...

Life At An English Boarding School

Because of where my parents were living at the time-- basically a retirement area in the south of Spain-- my options for school were very limited. There were so few kids my own age that the local English-language school simply didn't have anything to offer after age 15. So, at...

I went to boarding school from the age of 13-17.

It certainly wasn't Hogwarts as I was hoping, and it became very difficult to dodge homework assignments. But I made some amazing friends, and the teachers were incredible. I was moved there to address some difficulties I was having, and although it was very hard, I made it.
