I Will Never Get Over My Past Forum & Chat Board | The past can make us better people

I am 63 years young,and have experienced horrific trials in this path called life. I am a stronger and better person because i have chosen to become better and not bitter. IT HAS NOT BEEN EASY, BUT IT IS DOABLE. I suffered a complete mental breakdown in 12-27-05 was diagnosed with clinical depression, have been on meds, group therapy and counciling doing much better, learning to set healthy boundaries for myself. Was raised in an environment of alcoholism(mother) domestic violence(dad,grandparents, entire maternal family were alcoholics. Have family who committed suicide, had a sister murdered at the hands of her sicko husband in 1981, have experieced rejection from our oldest son , lost precious 18 years with him and our oldest grandson and his sister, a lot more but i am doing well ,learning to deal with my hurts and anger in appropiate ways not hurting my self. I use the serenity prayer a  lot. LORD GRANT ME THE SERENITY TO ACCEPT THE THINGS I CANNOT CHANGE, COURAGE TO CHANGE THE THINGS I CAN AND ABOVE ALL. THE WISDOM TO KNOW BETTER.
