    Come On!

Is it that hard to look back over what you wrote before you send or publish it?  Honestly. Even my local newspaper doesn't grasp the concept of proofing their work and goes to print with more typos than my 6 year old's homework.  Not only is that showing off their...

I admit it, I'm a grammar--well, not Nazi, but maybe a grammar Castro or something.  I try to stifle myself, though, because my obsession does not have to be everybody's obsession.

I wish people would proofread their texts a few times before posting. That's because even if I do, I still find a lot of spelling mistakes later on and get frustrated.

    Less Errors In This World

I am not saying we are perfect and I know we all make mistakes and mess up, but if more people proofread before posting their stories or proofread before doing anything we would have less errors in this world.

    Setting a Bad Example

I used to be extremely uptight about bad grammar and misused words, but now only fly into a rage when I see something "official" where I feel that whoever approved it to go into print/online "should have known better". Particularly in advertisements. It's no...

    Not Quite An English Major

It seems so simple. Click the little check-mark with the "abc" above it. Hit the "F7" key on Windows... Read something before you send it. It is flabbergasting how intelligent people will make a fool of themselves by sending messages, making post or emailing...

    Please Read What You're Saying.

I'm such a Grammar Nazi. I hate it when people misspell words or short hand type. It's not "u" it's "you." I also hate when people get You're and Your mixed up. I am going to your party (right) I am glad you're home (right) You're dog is nice (wrong) Your really nice (wrong...

There was an Italian place in the last town I lived in that put up a huge sign reading: BELLA ROMA, Italian Resturant [sic] That's not very bella, ragazzi. Basta cosi, eh?!

That is a very good question. Glad that you asked. If only people will take time to proofread. My teachers have said repeatedly to print out a hard copy of a document and check for errors. Be careful with your and you're and to, too, and two!

    Proofreading Is Fun

I guess it's just the way I've been taught. I've always loved writing in school. In elementary school, we'd start with a "rough copy" on yellow looseleaf. We'd do things like underline the first three words in every sentence to make sure everything didn't start the...
