I Wnat to Know Your Favorite Vegetable

A Deliberate Misspelling of "Want" 67 People

No doubt about it. Kale is the queen of veggies.   My Mom always cooked only the tender leaves.  She would boil them, drain, and chop them up very fine.  The result was so concentrated and yummy. I don't take nearly as much trouble.  Grab a...

    Has To Be Spinach

This happened in 6th grade. One lunchtime in the cafeteria I asked if anyone didn't want their spinach, thinking I might get 1 or 2 servings. I ended up with 7 servings. I was in hog heaven. Who knows, maybe I watched too many Popeye cartoons in my youth.

    Red, Yellow, Orange, And Green

I love me some bell peppers.  Orange ones are my favorites, but I love the whole spectrum.  Sometimes I'll fry 'em in a little olive oil and a teeeeeensy pinch of salt...but I'm far more likely to just de-seed 'em and eat them raw. Yum!

Before I became a teenager, I didn't have much interest in veggies. I'd eat them if they were on my plate but you would never find me searching the fridge to find them myself. Now that I'm older, I know the benefits of a healthy meal... My favorite veggies are the ...

consider the artichoke. it's actually a thistle, did you know? the thick, outer, spikey leaves protect the flower inside. the petals inside are thin and purple. underneath them are immature petals called the "choke". you will understand why they are called that if you...

    Summer Squash

I love cooked hot summer sqaush, the best tasting ones if cooked right are my favorite over all other vegatables at their best.  But, if they aren't at their peak tastewise, then it's a toss up between at least a half a dozen other veggies.  A fresh, cold, and crispy...

    Right Now - Creamed Spinach

I'm trying to build my blood up and nothing better than the green leafys. I also love Brussel Sprouts, having an abundant stock of both in my freezer. (Sweet cooked Carots are THE BOMB too).

I love a good salad once in a while but my favorite vegetable has to be the Brussel Sprout with lots of butter or cheese.  Then I would have to say the potato, Broccoli (little trees), and cauliflower.  When I was younger I used to throw a fit because I hated vegetables...

I have so many that I think I need a veggie of the day! Lately, I've been using fennel a lot!  I chop it up for an added crunch in salads.  I make my Fennel Pasta, sauteeing it with chopped red onion and putting it over pipette pasta.  I think that's today's...

I Am Not Sure If They Are Technically a Fruit Or Veggie

but my hands down favourite are tomatoes. I love them sliced on sandwichs, cooked on pasta (either fresh or in the form of sauce) and eaten whole, although this drives some people crazy. Does anyone else out there eat tomatoes like they would an apple?

I'll either have to be carrots or cawliflower. I'm not a sprout lover, and prefer cawliflower to brocolli. Carrots are wicked because I can make smiley faces with them!!

    Sugar Snap Peas

From a tiny seed in my rich Midwestern soil, I watch as the sugar snap pea plant sends out delicate tendrils that climb the twine and stakes set out in my garden. Weeks later, after meticulous care and an abundance of sunshine and Illinois rains, I find myself visiting the sugar...
