Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 226 People

Probably no one, or very few at this stage. But I`m hoping to rectify that. I need to allow myself to get close to people and let them into my life.

    I Think Its Normal

People have a certain preoccupation with death. I don't think its weird that I've thought about my funeral. Usually this subject (who's going to be at my funeral when I die) is in the context of now. If I were to die today, who would be there? I really don't think of it in a...

I'm thinking not many people will go. My immediate family but that's a given. I have no idea about other family members. My dad's side would probably go. They still like me. My mom's... not so much. A few friends, of course. I don't think many would show up. They...

I Am Healthy And Young...But Think About My Funeral A LOT.

I have a song list, an invite list, a location plan and an order of service. Morbid curiosity, or good planning?

    I Hope Someone Will Care

If I died today there wouldn't be many people at my funeral. In fact, if I died at home I probably wouldn't be missed or discovered for weeks, perhaps months. My mother and grandmother would be there. My father might attend if someone takes the trouble to inform him. I have...

    My Funeral

When it'll be my funeral, I will say Alleluia, the day has finally come.  God decided taking me.  At my funeral, I want something private and reserved.  I want my parents there if they are still around, my husband, (kids if we have any).

    Anyone know when it is.

.... I don't want to be late! It would be good to shop for the right outfit to look dead in wouldn't it?

    A Fair Idea

It will be small and among it will be a number of people who are there to make sure I am really dead Such as the receiver of student loan payments and the tax man :)

    Sometimes I Wonder

As each day passes, sometimes all I can think is This is my life? What exactly am I working towards? Why should I bother? And as life goes on, we all wonder what it's like to die. Sometimes, I wish my life would end so I wouldn't have to anticipate it. At...

I Know That I'll Show Up

I'll be the one in the box.  You won't be able to miss me. Just don't know who else will be there. Should I send my invites out now?

I can imagine that no one would,

but at least I would be dead so I wouldn't have to worry about that anyway.

I Don't Know Who Will Come.

I went to the funeral of a 91 year old lady this week and the church was full. Her family paid tribute to her and clearly loved and valued her very much. I do worry that, when its my turn to go, there will only be the vicar there. I have no family, and my circle of friends is...

    Why Would They Come?

I think a lot about my death. What my obituary would say. I started looking at urns. Im going to make a thumb print pendant for my daughter. But truthfully, everyone else has hurt me or dont really know me, so why would they come? I dont want a service. No need to buy me...
