I Work 3rd Shift

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 64 People

    Baking 'til Dawn

I am fairly new to the 3rd shift working, beginning in July of 2012. I work at Panera as a Night Baker and I am thrilled with working at night. I thrive in the evenings and into the nights so it is where I belong. I admit that it does get lonely on my nights off. When I am...

So people are always wanting to talk,

but I have yet to find that here on EP. So if you are up between the hours of 11pm and 7am EST lets talk..I am open to discuss anything. (But I do prefer people in my age range) If no one wants to talk I will just continue to surf around and post my random thoughts.

    I work in a factory 3rd shift.

This is a change for me because I spent the last 8 years working during the day as a teacher. The pay is good and people don't bother me because most of the higher ups leave before 4. Am I the only one here who feels like they are more awake at 2 am than they ever were at 2 in...

    Been There, Done That

I worked at an automotive factory for 14 years and approximately 10 of them were spent on 3rd shift. It has its ups and downs the same as any other shift except there isn't as much brass around those hours.

I have been studying sleep disorders for about 10 years now and I have seen the country, lived in many places, and helped thousands of people, but I have done it all at night! I do like working at night, (less politics) i do enjoy the roads being clear and missing out on the rush...

Never Had An Issue On 3rd Shift.

I work 3rd shift. Have on/off for several years. I seem to be that odd person who actually likes it and doesn't suffer from all the weird "syndromes" that get associated to 3rd shift workers. I can stare at this screen all night and go home and sleep in daylight (guess that rules...
