The Night Shift - Some Good, Some Bad

I work the night shift (22.30-08.00) in a public hospital every second weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun). On the positive side, it pays better (penalty rates) and means you don't have to spend as much of your time working to earn a decent income. I also love the quietness and calm...

    Night Shift Nation Unite

Thanks for starting this.  I have an idea to try to get this group some large numbers. First, start with hospital / ambulance workers. That is a  guaranteed 1,000 members there. You contact any restaurant USA that delivers until 10 pm (probably Pizza Hut). Fax a flyer...

    Night Shift-adverse Effects

I am a nurse and began working night shift about 1.5 years ago, thinking I was a night owl (which I am) so naturally thought I would like it better. Don't get me wrong-I love that the phone doesn't ring as much, I can spend more time taking care of my patients the way I've...

Seven (7) Twelve (12) Hours Shift - Then Seven (7) Days Off !!!!!!!!!!!!

I work a 7 12hrs shift of 84 hrs per week and then have 7 days off. In total I work two weeks or 14 days for the month. Call me crazy if you like, but I enjoy my two weeks off every month by doing these compressed hours in nursing in the UK. The money is crap, but the time off is...

I'm a RN and have worked the 7p-7a shift for the past 11 years.  I do four in a row,  I'm a night owl and always have been.  I tried working days but would stay up half the night and be tired when it came time to go to work.  I really like working nights...

I love the night shift. The fewer people I have to deal with, the better. There are only four of us on duty at nights (hospital) and sometimes that's three too many ;P

I work night shift. 12 hour nights.

7pm to 7am. Its nice to work at my own pace and to be on when its quieter but i hate that ive been forced into this schedule by illness. I have to struggle through the shift knowing i wouldnt cope on days. I feel like a burden and that im useless.
