Love the sound and the smell of the sea.

Even in winter when the cold spray catches you. One day I shall find a nice view of the world and set up home there. Enjoying it during the spring and summer. Sheltering from it during the autumn and winter.

    Out of the Way!

I would love to live near the ocean, but sadly,I'm as far away from that as it gets! The good thing is that in about 15 years,I'm going to move to Japan. That's an island,so I'm going to try to get a beach condo or a beach house or something near the beach.

About twenty or thirty minutes away. I used to live so close you could see it from my back porch, but...

I Can't Handle Being Away From the Sea

I have always lived in an area that was at least an extension of the ocean. Except for now, and I kinda hate it.

I would kill to live by the ocean.

I feel so happy when I'm by the ocean. My great grandfather owned a house that was right on the beach. I loved going there as a kid and playing in the water. It was because of that house I dreamed of owning a beach house so I could be near the water every day. God knows how I'll...

    I Do And I Don't Even Try

My life has inadvertently been involved with the sea. My natural mother was a young trawlerman's widow from Lossiemouth, by the sea, her husband had been killed I think, possibly drowned. My natural dad was at the RAF base. He may have been the cleaner for all I know, but an RAF...

Well, I live in Rio de Janeiro,

Brazil. In theory, I live about 15 minutes from the ocean, from many different beaches. But one thing that really annoys me is that this 15 minutes trip becomes a two hours one because of traffic jams and then I get suuuper lazy. :/

I'd be the happiest person ever

if I lived near the ocean! It's so peaceful! This is my dream and if this doesn't happen until I retire I'd be totally fine with that!

Oh, but don't get all worked up.

Most people would want to live by the ocean in a place like California or Florida. I'm not like that. It's the Alaskan coast for me.

I do live near the ocean

but dont spend much time on the public beaches as their always crowded in summer and freezing in winter . We are however lucky enough to have 2 n-dist beaches close by ,where the people are far more friendly .

    I Never Have

I love the smell and sounds of it and the way it makes the air feel.  I love the cry of the gulls overhead, squishy sand between my toes and salt spray.  I have never lived near the ocean, but have visited our West Coast many times.  I think I would like to...

    Drawn To It

It's no secret by now, that humans,at least most,of us,seem drawn to water quite naturally.Wether it's because we're largely made up of the stuff,or what,I don't know, but there does seem to be some magnetic force that draws us to water. It might be the ocean,a lake, a river,or...

I would love to live near the ocean. Sure, it would have its drawbacks: I would be vulnerable to natural disasters on the ocean. But then I think about the other side of the coin: The sound of the waves, the knowledge that I can walk to paradise, the fact that I'm residing in the...

    Waking Up to the Waves

I want to wake up and look outside my window in mornings and see the ocean come in to greet me.  At night, last thing, walking out of the door, sitting on the sand and watching the moonlight reflect on the surface of the ocean. I want to see the sun's relection of gold on...

Sound Of Waves And The Feel Of The Mist

I remember in my teens going with my Mom and her friends and sleeping on the beach and it was sandy and yuck the next morning but the sound and feel of the mist was amazing if we had slept in a tent to help with the sand I think it would have been one of the best nights...

I used to live in Homer, AK which is a coastal town. Then I moved to MI. I hated it so I migrated over to Oregon. I don't live near the ocean but plan on moving again one of these days.

    So Nice

I would be so happy if I lived within 4 hours of a beach! I don't even care about living ocean side (though that would be nice!) I love swimming in the ocean. My favorite vacations have been Florida and S Carolina because I got to be a beach bum for a few days.

    Sandy Feet

Then I could run down to it every morning and wade into it while the sun is still rising. Which, I reckon, would be pretty lovely and a great way to start the day. Nothing better than getting sandy feet before your breakfast.

I live in the Netherlands, and quite close to the sea. So I can imagine if you wonder why I'm part of this group. But the sea here in Holland is awful. It's always cold here, and the water is brown and dirty and really gross. We just don't have a beautiful seaside. I go on...
