    Soups

I obviously like soups. Thick, creamy soups. I wouldn't mind a consomme either. But I don't use cream. This is an unfamiliar ingredient here as far as soup making is concerned. I think that generally the use of single, double etc cream was "imported" along with recipes from...

    Mmmmm....

I am at work now, absolutely hungry and tired. There is the bakery alternative -there is one next door- but I am not particularly fond of the idea. I prefer to bring my own snack from home whenever I have enough time to prepare something in the morning. One of my favourites...

    Never Enough

It doesn't matter how many cups we have in the fridge; I will eat them all. I am talking about the irresistible creme caramel or flan or caramel custard. And the best of all, I don't have to make it myself...

    Funny Name For A Dish

The name is tourlou (go figure...). It means something like "a mess", or "mixed up things" -the translation part is the hardest... It is definitely not a greek word as many of the dishes we consider as traditional, or at least their names, came from Turkey. The Turks...

    Fruit

It is hot, hot, hoooot. And if you think it's hot, wait until next week. There's a nice breeze from the sea, my mother says. OK, but the sea is far from my house and everything is still and hot here. So the hotter it is, the grumpier I become. And the grumpier I become, the less...
