    It Was a Good Study.

The object of the exercise was to say, in a round about way, that education should be required for new parents. We couldn't agree on the degree to be awarded, so we went with the word "Licensing" People who were abused or worked in an abuse system understood the...

I have seen so many abused kids that I am sick to my stomach, someone should stop this outrageous act against children, just because a mother is tired, a child shouldn't be spanked! We would live in a whole different world if there were less abuse, think of all those innocent...

    Foster Care

In most states, People interested in Foster Care have to take classes and get some sort of permit. If the same precaution is taken for some one who wants to be a parent, could we eliminate foster care?

    Pre Licensing

How about a program for a learners permit? Classes, Internship with an existing parent, Residency in an existing family. Don't forget yearly recertification to keep skills sharp and up to date. Don't forget random drug and alcohol testing.

Hells Yes!! That Is a Given!!!

It makes NO sense to me how a person has to have their dogs licensed, but do not have to have a license to be a parent!! This has always amazed me ... and I have NO clue why this is.

    Great Idea

If nothing else parenting skills should be a mandatory class in high school regardless of gender.  Have seen too many disasters just in my own family.  Ironically my aunt and I were talking about this today, she had called about our family reunion.

In the above year there were 540,000 children in the foster care system. Maybe if prospective parents were screened more carefully, there would have been 0 children in foster care in 2001.
