I Wtk Why Men Get So Traumatized When We Mention Menstruation

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 109 People

    Allright Seriously

We know, it's a little gross. We've heard all the jokes, and some of them are funny, we admit. We know we become entirely different human beings while we are on our periods, and believe me, if you think it's hell on you, you should be the one bleeding from your vag for 7 days and...

    It's Not The Actual Menstruation

It's not the actual menstruation, we know perfectly the cycle. It's the mood swings, the being in trouble for nothing even though we try so hard to do the right thing. So when you say we are so traumatised it is true, we are shellshocked and the mere mention has us ducking for...

    They Don't Understand It

most guys don't understand what it actualy is.  they think that it is just blood comeing out once a month that needs to be blocked.  they do not under stand that it is your reproductive system cleaning out so you are being refreashed and able to be impegnated agian.  it dosent...

    I Mean, Seriously, Dudes....

What's the big deal?  I have never known a dude yet who can comfortably talk about menstruation.  Look,  half the people in the world are female... we spend half our lives dealing with this.... GROW UP .... it's no big thing. If you're asked to buy tampons or...

    What's The Big Deal?

Women don't get traumatized(although, quite frankly, I think women should) when men are on their monthly cycles. Besides, menstruation is not a bad thing, it's a natural part of being a woman and it should be embraced by both men and women. P.S. I sound like a hippie :P

    Well To Be Honest...

...even I get freaked out when people talk about it in detail. I'm just like "okkkk, thats nice....?" (*creeped out face*) "I didn't need to know... having your period isn't exactly a amazing topic to talk about. It's pretty freakin' gross if you ask me.

    Menstruation

Maybe a small percentage of men get traumatize when women mention menstruation.  Having our period is part of life and go figure, I'm uncomfortable talking to men about it myself and I don't even know why.

    Suppress Pain

There are painkillers that can effectively stop that kind of pain because you women take it to far and use menstruation as an excuse to behave violently and with justification.

    The Reason

The reason men like me get uncomfortable with women chatting about Menstruation is that its a area that were not that experienced in obviously, and we don't know how it feels, but women get so patronizing when a man get hit in the sack. It is by far the most horrible and...

    Trauma

I grew up around too many women for that to happen to me. Btw if women live together long enough they tend to cycle together.

    Some Slack Please?

I'm a guy, and I'm not aghast at the mention of menstruation. I was quite in tune with my ex's cycle. It's part of reproductive knowledge... I can't go too far into the topic, because there is really nothing to say! Sorry I can't answer your question! LOL

    Dad Freaked

My dad is usually pretty cool about stuff but when I had my first period 5 moons ago he freaked out and had gram give me the talk. I told her I've seen the goats do it and I don't plan to do it for a long time and it's my period not a boyfriend. Besides I pretty much knew what to...

Just The First Few Grouchy Days

The only part I find scarey is the first few grouchy days. My wife says I get really stupid every 28 days. First I learned to tell the difference between the grouchy days and when I had actually pissed her off. Then I learned it's not ok to point out that it's just PMS.
