There are 163 days left until Halloween 2012 from the day I'm writing this and yes I do keep a mental count down. I love Halloween. I love the spirit of it. The mythology of it. I love the freedom it gives people who are willing to take it. To put on a costume one night out of the year and be something beyond yourself. But I also like the scare, I love the haunted attractions, the fear, haunting my own space with touches of the macabre. It does something to my writer's spirit that time of year when the veils between the worlds gets thin. I just LOVE Halloween.
