Little Things.

My boyfriend's grandfather served as a pilot in three wars, my uncle is a Vietnam vet.

I live in San Antonio, which is a military town, I am a cashier at the local grocery. If I see a hat, or a shirt, or a uniform, I take the time to thank them for their service. Sometimes they just smile and nod and go on their way. And that's a great feeling. But thanking older veterans, even just showing a little more respect, a tiny bit more of a smile than usual- it really seems to make their day.

And it makes my day too.
