In more ways than one we are all the same. We all have family. They may not be by your side but they are there, in you heart. We all love. We all have a breaking point. When you take away the things that set us apart we are all the same. When our friends and family hurt, we hurt. Yes, life is unfair, and we will never know why bad things happen to good people. But everything happens for a reason.
The moment the twin towers fell it felt like time stopped and all the things I regret flashed in my mind. Losing friends and family to something that should have never happened will never make since to me. They where my rock, they kept me strong, they lifted me up when all I wanted to do was fall. Now they are gone and there is nothing to do but move on, keep pushing for strength. The strength to hold my head high and tell their stories, and never let what happened on September 11, 2001 be forgotten.
On September 11, 2001 when the twin towers fell lives were taken. But they where not just anyone. They where friends, family, moms, dads, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandchildren, grandparents, boyfriends, girlfriends, neighbors, co-workers. They where the people that you took for granted. You would call and text all day and night. But now they are gone and there is nothing you can do.
That day the lives of Americans changed. If you think about it when everything goes away we are all the same, and working for the same goal. To make the lives of our children better. After 9/11 there is only one thing we can do, work together to make America a better place, house by house, street by street, town by town…
