Engineering / Web Development

We are looking for senior and associate developers with the following skillset:

• Deeply proficient in the Linux-Apache-MySQL-PHP stack (or willing and able to pick up quickly!)
• Strong (insane, even) commitment to, and knowledge of, security and scalability
• Attention to detail -- treating each visitor's experience as that of a friend's
• Empathic, compassionate personality
• Participation in community websites a plus, particularly health and support

Interns

Experience Project is a young, fun company building an incredibly meaningful product with superstar backers. We are looking for multiple collegiate interns that can contribute both in strategy and development. We realize your experience will likely be limited, so we are looking for that unique combination of personality, background, and studies hat will lead to an amazing internship for both you and us. The intention would be for you to join us full time afterwards.

Are you an engineering major with a strong desire to get into product management and marketing? For the right student, we have an incredibly unique summer position open that will take you from start to finish on a single project, spanning all aspects of the product development process. True project ownership from start to finish, and the chance to expand your horizons beyond your degree and previous experience are the hallmarks of this opportunity.

• Take a project from market research, to features planning, to development and marketing -- all in one summer
• Work with young, fun, and talented entrepreneurs, product managers, and executives that provide guidance when you need it, while giving you space for the creative freedom you desire
• Have tens of thousands of people benefitting from your work the instant you finish
• For the engineering aspect of the position, you need to have experience with web development, with strong preference for the LAMP architecture. If you don't yet know PHP, a strong background in C or Java would suffice.
• For the marketing aspect, we'd like to see experience with the development and marketing of 'products' -- be it on the web, or in the physical world. Something that lets us know your brain can work on both sides of the product equation, and even more critical -- that you enjoy the challenge
• We'd also like to see strong involvement in online communities -- you need to have a perspective on the market from your own experience

You will help build out the feature set, refine existing functionality, and improve usability across the site. You will have creative freedom to suggest what you'd like to work on, and work with product management to select projects that best meet both your interests and the needs of the community.

• Create new features and refine existing ones using the LAMP architecture
• Be a true part of the team, with your inputs both respected and influencing your tasks
• Make things people will use and love the day literally moments after you finish them
• Be resourceful and comfortable working in an exciting and fluid startup environment
• Previous experience with web development (Python, Java, PHP, .NET) required
• Experience with LAMP strongly preferred (but it's not hard to pick this up if you know C or Java)

You will be responsible for nurturing, supporting, and growing the Experience Project Community. Note: This is a part-time position.

• Design fun, compelling community contests, projects, activities and incentives
• Have your pulse on the community -- what's hot, what's not, and why
• Answer member questions
• Browse the 'neighborhood' and keep an eye on suspect postings
• Be a friendly, lovable person the community enjoys interacting with
• Welcome new members
• Conduct member surveys
• Manage featured content -- both on the website and in our newsletter
• Though this is an intern position to begin with, our intention is for you to stay on when you return to school
