  • Why Congress Can't Get Anything Done

    For decades, the Republicans and Democrats have been fighting with one another just to get the 'upper hand'.  I don't think they really CARE about thier constiuancies, I think that they just want power. I've noticed that one party can come up with an idea, and if the opposing party starts to agree with it, the first party tries kicking the pins out of the whole thing.  It doesn't matter if we're talking about the Democrats or the Republicans because keeping party unity (The Republicans are a joke during this election season in that regard.) is more important that doing what's right.     I realize that we're the "Home of the Brave, and the Land of the Free", but why, oh why, do WE always have to be the ones who clean up the messes in other countries...at the educational and prosperital expense of our own people? As as student of business, I realize that war has been a profitable endeavour for the U.S., particularly WW2, where we destroyed the infrastructure of all our international competetors, with virtually no physical casualties to our civil population... except Hawaii, which wasn't a State at the time,...and a couple of ineffectual blasts off of our coastlines; however, we aren't the singular 'super power' anymore..Except in terms of military strength.
