‘would reduce total employment by about 500,000 workers.’” That means, for so many low information voters, nearly a half million people would lose their jobs. Of course, in the end the job losses would be blamed on Republicans and George W. Bush. Economy grew .1% in 1st quarter. That's one-tenth of one percent which is virtually no growth.

We need to find ways to limit prices on things people need. Usually prices only goes up too when minimum wage goes up. Heck when we went up a dollar here, every place raised prices due to it even before it too effect. Fries at Wendy's went up 15 cents, and drinks 25. So if you have a family you are treating out... just at those simple prices you are already losing a lot of the extra. Rent went up between 1-9% for apartments and over 5% for housing (the highest jump was near the college with a increase of 18% from the season before the increase. No one keeps their money when it just trickles outwards. My company which was hiring 17 people, just closed all positions and made the rest of us carry the duties. There needs to be an awareness to keep prices (rent, food, utilities) down so the Mass of people can life comfortablely even if it doesn't mean they can get a 60 tv, or a newer car a couple of years sooner. imho

Jimmy Carter tried that with different things but the people renamed the products to something different and sold them at the unlimited price.

With a open ceiling for prices (and paychecks) it is going to be hard for any individual much less company not look out for themselves. :(

Lets say you own a home, that you bought for $30,000 twenty years ago. If they passed a law like you are saying you might only get $30,000, so the price of living doesn't go up for the other guy. Now look at all things that are going to be sold in the same way. What your saying while noble is not really going to spell any kind of growth.

An economy is meant to serve the people, not the other way around. Some people will learn how to benefit and enrich themselves by seizing control and power no matter in what way and form it comes. Our economist today, are as bad as the bishops and cardinals during the medieval days. Back then it was Jesus and the holy land, today its a world economy and oil fields. Nothing has changed. Power needs to be taken away from those who hold and suppress the public, and given back the common man/family. Lol! Before it all starts again...

I did not say lock in prices. I said nothing of that nature, I said a open ceiling issues was more of the problem. Hence, wages go up slightly for people and most companies add that increase plus some to all their items so the individual ends up with less then when they were in a lesser paying job. If you took the house and based on a more balances income and access the prices would vary by demand of locations, jobs/rate of employment, and of course over all resources the neighborhood or town can offer. Locking in prices would be just a dangerous to the welfare of the masses since even in a barter state of mind, the person looking for something usually is expected to pay more then the person who made/developed/repaired the item paid out.

When a group of people (or companies) do control a lot of it, it's very hard to keep it accessible to the general public. It's also a conflict between having more of a socialist or communist availability and more self-promoting formed of governmental/regulating style of control. Both have pros and cons and I do not thing we will find a balance between the individual and the community as a whole when it comes to economics any time soon.

This should be a good project for a brand new Government agency to handle. Perhaps Paycheck police department. I think it would be an easy sell to the current Government in charge. Or either send everyone to China.

Well, at least they are going to be able to raise taxes by about 25-30 percent, and people still be of as ****** as before. Yet, 500 000 more people will be able to sit at home and collect welfare? It will all work out the end...
