    I think it would depend on 2 factors: what said ideas are and how fanatical he is in his belief in them. Some ideas are worth enforcing (ie murder is bad) and some ideas are bad (too many examples to list). That said, if even a good idea is enforced to stringently (I can't help but think of the "pro life" movement on this one) then it can lead to serious problems.
