No brainer - the former. Only a fool believes there is any relationship between money and happiness.

I have been both. I would prefer to be poor and rich with love, Money can buy you alot of things including friendship the real test is running out of money and seeing who is still with you.

If you have family, you are rich in the ways that count. I would take my family and be poor any day!

Having followed a dollar from one coast to another in hopes of being of assistance to those back home that need it I find being stuck in the middle that rock and a hard place.

Rich and far away. If I get lonely I can hop onto my private jet and go visit.

Be poor but rich with love near a wonderful loving family. Family and community are so much more important to me than money. People matter.

poor with your family is always good. you will have them when you have no one in this world. riches change everything...many other things like pride and ego seep in...

love is itself very rich .. if some one have true love he is really rich .. but u know true love is rare and people in these days not only thing about love the think economics of love .. always connect love with money .. .. i read some where that

if u want to see how much rich u r do not count ur money .. just drop a tear from ur eyes and see how many hands reach out to wipe ur tears...

Regards

My family isn't very loving, so I'd pick rich and far away.

I'm tired of choosing one or the other, I'm going to be rich with love and money. Close to my family doing something that brings in tons of money. Why choose if you can have both!

Well this is an interesting question and I think it applies to me specifically. I was poor, well not destitute, but had very little, but I had a large family. I am now upper middle class with enough money to live very well. My family however is gone. They have all passed away over the years with the exception of one brother who rarely if ever contacts me. I can say that I would easily give up every cent I have, every item of designer clothing, jewelry, cars, and my fancy home and be humble and poor just to have a loving family again. I can always earn money and it is funny how little we really need to survive, but to live without the love and support of family is like being cast into a deep abyss.

Moved out to Oregon to be closer to extended family leaving my own family. Now my extended family is dead & my son & daughter won't visit me. Lonely on Thanksgiving Day so I go out to a community Thanksgiving Feast to make friends.
