When I was a kid you could buy any fireworks you could afford, we had hours of fun with them but now they have regulated all the fun out of them and the stuff they are allowed to sell is junk, all because some idiots aren't smart enough to figure out it might hurt if you hold a bomb in your hand and watch the fuse burn down.Like (1)

Lots of holidays are like that. When you have your own kids you experience the joy through them. Otherwise, at least it's a day off or double time.

Maybe if my country actually reflected the meaning of Independence Day... I would enjoy it more.
