I agree with the attorney: "Sometimes when you go to a zero-tolerance policy, you end up with a zero-sense policy,...". I think this economy is making schools hire really obtuse people.

I heard of a six-year old whose dad packed her a peanut butter & jelly sandwich for lunch. The dad was called to bring her home for bringing a peanut product onto school grounds! After all... someone somewhere on school grounds might have an allergy!

I've know that for 50+ years---got to listen to the stories of my dad and other teachers about the idiot policies administrators came up with even back then.
