It's a derogatory, disrespectful, sexist and offensive label. Why not just call them something decent and not stoop into the low mentality.

It is sexist, hate-filled, and could be described as a slur. That explains why some are offended but also take into account standing. No one really cares when 50 Cent uses the N-Word because he is black (Not completely true in the Black Community the use of the word is highly debated with the older generations not finding in empowering in the least and actually hate the word) some women are cool with it ba<x>sed on your standing in there life. Some are not cool with you saying it ba<x>sed on your standing in there life.

calling a woman a b**** can be insulting, offensive, if said in a certain way to imply she's nothing more than a nasty ***** or gold digging s***.

The don't love it, they think it is a joke and you are trying to be funny, If they thought you actually meant it they would dump you so fast it would make your head spin, so don't get confused about that. Women prefer respect. They will joke about this name because we see it used in the media, but it is part of a cultural slang that they accept it, they do not LIKE it.

Probably not a great idea to say to someone you dont really know it can be taken offensive but to a close friend you maybe able to get away with it I Think it depends on who you say it too and how you say it.
