Yes because if he is wrong, then it is inherrent regardless of the audience. The opposite also holds--if something is true, it's true whether or not you believe it.
First I thought this was totally an oxymoron. Then I looked it up and decided it was a paradox. But that seemed such an ambiguous contradiction, it didn't feel right.
