My husband and I are both Christians and when we don't agree on something I will let him have the last word as someone has to. I acknowledge he is head of the home but it doesn't mean he can walk all over me or I don't have a right to have my own opinion.
He has bipolar and some of the time I have to take the lead as I'm the rashional one.
It is what it is and because there are exceptions to the rule doesn't mean we don't respect the word of God.

I think maybe you need to quote the whole verse. Taking anything out of context is how we get ourselves in trouble. I don't know where the verse is located, but I do believe there is a whole lot about how the man should treat his wife. If he treats her like the bible says to, then I can assure you most woman would have no problem with submitting! The idea here is to not use sex as a weapon, or black mail. Also, to let the man run things for the family. Remember how society was back then. men ruled all.
Woman did not do business. So the idea was to keep your man in high esteem with other men, by submitting to his wishes. Nothing about not nagging the hell out of him if he did something you did not like.

Read the entire thing and there is a phrase about husbands loving their wives.
Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, ...

one can only be expected to do what one can do. meaning if husband were more attentive to wife needs and wants and desires. a women would WANT to submit fully to her man.
I do I want to submit to my husband not just in the bedroom. But he is just a rude jerk about it that I can't. Plus he wants me to do everything while he sits on his bum all day long while I work. nope won't happen. you got to give before you can take!

I think it is all interpretation...I take this to say allow the husband be the bread winner and support him to enable him to be strong for me...so, yes...I concur!
