A Question About an Annual Church Drama?

Ok, every year my church does a drama called Judgement House. We're based in Hudson, Ohio, but Judgement house is all over. Anyway, the script this year leads me to believe that non-believers will be mislead. The script is having people in the Hell scene be able to communicate with the audience. In Hell, the whole idea of it being so terrible is that you have to suffer alone with Satan torturing you, no? So this is very misleading in my opinion. And also, the demons randomly drag someone into Hell from the audience...but that misleads people TERRIBLY! Satan does NOT have the power to bring someone who has yet to be judged straight to Hell. I was just wondering if anyone else feels this could be misleading to new believers, old believers, and the unsaved as I do. Thanks! First question by the way:)

I don't know how to answer this question because my understanding is Hell was originally created for Satan and the Fallen Angels. Satan and the Fallen Angels (demons) will be tormented in Hell along with other sinners.

Know this is not what you are looking for and I certainly do not mean to sound unkind - but, the whole church drama is misleading.

While there was a constantly burning garbage dump outside the city of ancient Jerusalem in the valley of Hinnom that Jesus referred to saying the religious leaders of his day would not escape the fire of Gehenna, he was using it to symbolize everlasting destruction.

When Jesus was on earth, this valley was used as a garbage dump, "where the dead bodies of criminals, and the carcasses of animals, and every other kind of filth was cast." (Smith's Dictionary of the Bible) The fires were kept burning by adding sulfur to burn up the refuse. How appropriate for Jesus to use that valley as a symbol of everlasting destruction.

The bible words that are translated as hell, hades and sheol, simply refer to the common grave of humankind, not a place of everlasting torment.
The faithful man Job even prayed for the relief death would bring in Sheol. {Job 14:13} What relief would he have found if it were a burning place of torment?

If you look in the second chapter of the book of Acts, you can read of Jesus going to hell, hades, upon his death. Certainly, the Son of God died faithful to his Father and was without sin. thus, not subjected to hellfire! Right?

"But God resurrected him by loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to continue to be held fast by it. For David says respecting him, ‘I had Jehovah constantly before my eyes; because he is at my right hand that I may never be shaken. On this account my heart became cheerful and my tongue rejoiced greatly. Moreover, even my flesh will reside in hope; because you will not leave my soul in Ha´des, neither will you allow your loyal one to see corruption...he saw beforehand and spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that neither was he forsaken in Ha´des nor did his flesh see corruption. This Jesus God resurrected, of which fact we are all witnesses." [Acts 2:24-28, 31,32]

Revelation 20:13 states: "The sea gave up those dead in it, and death and Hades gave up those dead in them." Since the Bible's hell will be emptied,(due to people being resurrected during Christ's thousand year rule from heaven) it can not be the same place used by your church drama.

Hellfire is NOT a bible teaching; it's a church teaching or tradition taught to scare people into doing the will of the church.

Is there life after death according to the bible?
