Lilith is not mentioned as Adam's first wife in the Bible. Lilith is mentioned at a much later writing, and it is in Isaiah..."The wild creatures of the desert shall meet with the jackals, the goat demon shall call to his fellow, the lilith shall also repose there and find for herself a place of rest."
Nowhere, and I mean nowhere in the Bible does it say anything about Lilith being Adam's first wife. Lilith is refered to as "the lilith" with no capitalization of the "L" as in a proper name. What you are referring to is the Babylonian Talmud...where a woman named "Lilith" played a more prominant role in the beginning of man.

I think as punishment a thousand of her offspring were killed every day & so became a 'baby stealer' in Jewish myth. New babies would often have a pair of scissors hung over the crib and the words 'barring Lilith' pinned to it. Her refusal to be submissive to Adam makes her a bit of a feminist icon i am told. The Mother of all on the earth. Eve was his equal as she came from him,the hole then created drove Adam to Eve the only one to fit that hole.Without Eve man is incomplete.
