Sometimes they do sometimes they don't. Sometimes they are hitting me with their own **** and sometimes I need to be told.
Depends who the criticism comes from. If it's someone who always does it then obvi...no one can understand or know you fully so we are often misinterpreted. Just be open about things and rem that we don't know it all and neither do they.
They don't even have their prejudices and stereotypes straight a lot of the time
Usually no :-)
Would you waste time trying to repair a lawnmower which did not belong to you ? Re touching a painting not done by you ? Re writing an essay not yours ? Sometimes, when people criticize us is because they care about us and risk incurring our wrath because they hold up a mirror to us which says 'See this is wrong with you'. So in a way, these critics invest in us and we should be thankful. They are like the person who tells us 'hey, your fly is open' , 'There is something stuck in your hair', 'I think this dress is not right for you' rather than letting us look funny or unbecoming or worse still, snickering behind our backs. Learn to take criticism constructively. Ask the person why they said what they said. In this way, you have a chance to correct any misconception of you in the others mind as well as a chance to correct yourself if you are wrong.
