I'm studying to become a psych tech so I can help depressed/suicidal people, yet I've been depressed for years, refuse to get help, and feel suicidal about once a week and have attempted it twice in my life..

Hm wow I must read wrong, i only read that as caring more for others then yourself, nothing hypocritical there, besides even IF you were, who are we to judge. we can never hat you

most of the people become one to solve their own problems....if you succeeded in your recovery then you can help others.....not hypocrite

Maybe not a hypocrite but perhaps subconsciously inspired? You don't want others to feel the way you do so you strive to find a way to help others with the same problems?
This is all just assumption if I'm way off feel free to ignore me.
