Escape? That term makes me think that you are totally doing the right thing....I had to plot my "escape" from my husband....but, he was abusive, refused to work, a user, and a cheater....Not sure what yours is...but, more power to you....

You deserve to be happy!

No, not if he can't love you how you deserve...but try talking to him first.

? If you have no respect for him than I guess you answered your own question. Either that or you don't really know his strengths. In any case, your mind is already made up or you would not have phrased the question in such a way as to get support from everyone. You might as well do whatever you are wanting to. Good luck and I hope you don't have kids with this less than human being.

you aren't a total punk. was he weak and lame when you married him? or is he the same guy, but you just see him differently?

Weak and lame...is this how you feel about him even though he comes home to you every night etc. Is he a looser to you...or is he an abusive man and he hurts you in various ways?...I am just curious.
If you just don't want to be with him any more...well...just don't be cruel...remember, karma?
If he is abusive and you have tried to get help...it's not working...leave RIGHT NOW!

It depends - do you mean weak and lame in a literal or metaphorical sense? If it's metaphorical - no; if it's literal, that could be perceived as a bit slack. I suspect you mean the former though, so it's entirely up to you.
