I think they should decriminalize them all and treat addiction as a medical problem, rather than legal. It seems to be working well in Portugal.
Maybe we need to fix these pills so that if they are abused over say a year they kill you but are beneficial in correct doses. We could be rid of ton's of dopers that way. Why didn't I think of that before, booby trap the damn drugs, of course!
Typical government trying to control what they can't...
So I can blame some low life junkie for me being denied adequate pain meds after spinal fusion? I hope they all overdose
Let's just legalize everything then. If murderers are just going to murder because they want to, then let them murder. Down with all law, it's all bad anyways.
Countries with looser drug laws and stricter legal systems have lower crime rates.
Countries with no laws have no crime rates.
Generally murder isn't a multi billion dollar a year business making criminals extremely rich though is it? Prohibition doesn't work. Never has and never will. No matter how much money is spent on enforcement if you don't spend the money on the issues in society pushing people into addictions then enforcement will always be inefective. Governments for more than century have demonised drugs and those who take them. Drug addicts are people within society, they're not the enemy their our own people. We should be approaching drug use as a health issue not a criminal one. It would be far cheaper and much more effective.
You're only partly right. Drug abuse follows dysfunction. We should treat it like a broken window. If you leave them broken people will think it's the slums. Fix the window and people have a higher regard. Those who are not willing to suffer the pain of life would become drug addicts.
