simple; it fell onto its end, which would equalize the pressure, so thus it would not crack.......if you take a raw egg and squeeze it between your hands, that is, wrapping your hands and fingers around it, & squeezing with all your might it will not break, either.(I've done it and it works)....same principle!!!!!!
