The district should have said they're only allowed to dress as students for Halloween.

No problem---just let the kids dress up after school and go to class during the day

I never came dressed to school in costume because it wasn't allowed. More for safety concerns; no one ever mentioned religion. After school was when everyone raced home to get dressed up and go trick or treating.

Actually, I remember Halloween that fell on a Sunday and the district next to us moved Halloween to November 1st. If you lived next to this district, you could have gone trick or treating twice that year. Once in the district next to yours, and the next day, in your own district. Many kids in my area had their parents drive them over to this district for a second round. My parents refused. Halloween was moved because of religion.

As far back as I can remember we've never celebrated or worn costumes at school for Halloween and that goes back about 35 years. My daughter in second grade said they read them a Halloween book at Library time but that's about it. I LOVE Halloween but I don't see what the big deal is about including it during school time. We have all our fun this weekend or Halloween night.

So, I understand the "religious conflict" part NOT so much about the low test scores...AGAIN what Does Halloween, Have to do with test scores? No offense but these people are something else! THEY CANT STOP THEM FROM CELEBRATING ,afterschool >:) Ha! take that school! lol ... seriously thats not cool .

I think it's fine if the district refuses to get involved in the holiday as long as they don't ******* around with the kids who want to celebrate it on their own
