The most important thing I ever learned while trying to control my anxiety is remembering to breathe. You will be surprised how easy it is to lose control of your breathing when your anxiety builds up. Certain exercises with your breathing help too. Controlling your breathing is one of the most important things to help you cope with anxiety.

Depends on what is making you anxious. There are many of ways of dealing with anxiety but you have to know the cause and for some people, they have to be willing to admit and accept the cause before they can effectively deal with it.

just take things slow. i had really bad anxiety all the time but i just took on little things a little at a time. build your way up to a high anxiety situation. and by the time you get there you should be adjusted to the feelings of anxiety. just little steps at a time. take on the challenge.

    Just get over it.

If you make a determined effort it will work... usually does.

... or it might be medical, get it checked out if you are struggling to get out of it for too long. Things like hyperactive adrenals cause increased anxiety, and no amount of can-do spirit will undo chemical effects your body is built to respond to.

I never wanted to be like my parents, pill poppers but I have an injured spine so I take pills. The last 4yrs have been hard so after a year and a half I went and seen my Dr and he prescribed some pills for depression, recently and I mean last week had a nervous breakdown and I am on new meds. Talk to your Dr, that's the best you can do and if you have a chance talk to a psychologist or a psychiatrist.

Yeah. The same here. I hit the bottom and hid for three weeks, just thinking.

    Thoughts are things.

    They lead to changes.

    My experience.

You don't feel comfortable with yourself as you once did. Now you want that back. I would suggest to make a list of things you like about yourself.
