"A Face in the Crowd" in which Andy Griffith (when he was much younger) plays a country-western singer/religious hypocrite who becomes the lackey of politicians hoping to run him for office as their puppet. Great acting. I think Elia Kazan directed it. (VERY predictive of the role of television in politics--still quite relevant today.) Worth watching many times.
"American Beauty" : Middle-aged man falls for a young(er) girl. Great dialogue, great acting, great editing, very deep. Worth watching many times. Kevin Spacey is the man.
Ginger Snaps
its about a teen girl who gets bit and turns into a werewolf, theres a great metaphor to it also.
Its a great underground movie, the gore is awesome
its very sexy and hilarious
I would also recomend House of 1000 corpses and devils rejects.
It puts u on the serial killers side
and perspective
Another movie i would recommend is trainspotting
its about a man who lives in Edinburgh Scotland
he is addicted to heroine, and goes on all sorts of adventures
he over comes it, and fixes his life:)
city of angels, it's about a man named seth who is an angel and he helps those who die cross over. then there is a doctor played by meg ryan and she doesn't beleive in anything like that. seth meets her and thinks she spoke to him (people can't see him unless he wants them to) after that he talks to her and shows himself and there's another patient's life wrapped in there that has a great deal with the story life, it's amazing but that's all i'm telling you. watch the trailor on youtube.
another good one is 7 pounds. will smith is in it. he plays a man who killed seven people in a car crash and he tries to do 7 extrordinary things to make up for it, it's extremely good, i can't tell you any more with out ruining the movie. but it's beautiful, this trailer is definately worth a watch.
if you want a comedy i highly recomend grown ups or happy gilmore. both have adam sandler in it. i really can't describe them all, just have a look at the trailers on youtube.
best of luck with your movie search!
