Any ideas on getting rid of gophers before they've eaten our entire garden?

I had the same problem. I tried everything. :-(

Then a friend of mind told me about a bell pepper.

All you need to do is put a bell pepper in the hole at the beginning of their tunnels.

We only had 1 to deal with so it may take a few bell peppers placed in their tunnels.

I don't know what it is with a bell pepper but it works.

Scientists have known for years that gophers are weak against reverse psychology. Walk out to the garden and yell, "Fine. Eat our garden. We don't mind. We love you and just want you to be well-fed and happy." Following this, the gophers will lose interest and move on to another spot.

I have a resident gopher under my deck that chews our cable and eats my plants. Even wrote a story about my war with it. Nobody mentioned anything about a bell pepper but I have visions of lining the whole perimeter of my deck and yard with bell peppers. Who knows how many minions he has lying in wait? There are holes all over the place. My friend suggested wolf urine pellets but they didn't have them at our garden center. I'm thinking maybe I'll just get a wolf.

They are nasty when they get into your garden. On the golf course down the hill from me, they shoot them with a pellet gun. They do this early in the morning before the course opens. There is always rat poisen...pepper spray maybe. Or...just get use to sharing your garden.

Gopher wire underneath our plants. It doesn't get rid of them, but it keeps them from your plants.

plain old ivory soap. shred it up and pit around the plants and if you find them the gopher holes.

If possible raise beds made out of wood. A hungry cat. and a vigrating plastic windmill. An old technique is as soon as you find a fresh hole get you water hose and immediately flood out his hole and be ready to clobber it with your steel shovel. Happy Hunting.

pour gasoline into their tunnels and light it. if that doesn't kill them at least you will have fun watching the ensuing explosion.
