It's based on something that transpired in LA during WWII!

Aliens3, possibly the best film in the series. The first two were focused solely on the xenomorphs and how dangerous they are while leaving the main characters out to dry. Aliens3 takes a different route(even different than the director wanted), focusing instead on Ripley making her character more human. In the end if it had been another xenofest Ripley's death would have not been as tragic as it was.

A Good Year with Russel Crowe.
It bombed in the theaters, and critics weren't so kind with it...
    But, I absolutely loved it.

There have been 3 film versions of Steinbeck's "of Mice and Men," one of them was ATV movie starring Robert Blake & Randy Quaid, which I thought was every bit as good as the 2 better-known versions, but no one else seems to even remember it.

"For Love Of The Game" -- It's my second favorite Costner baseball movie after "Bull Durham" ... I think a person has to have pitched on some level for a long time to understand what the movie was all about, what exactly goes through the pitchers mind while on the mound and in the dugout during the course of a game. Although I never pitched beyond a little college baseball, I did pitch for a long time in amateur leagues, so I related to Billy Chapel in a big way in that film

Troy didn't go down very well with the critics but I found it rather enjoyable.

People really hated the Day of the Dead "remake" done by Steve Miner. People gave it low ratings because they expected a remake, which it wasn't. It was its own film. An artistic interpretation of the original, if you will. I thought it surpassed the Romero version, but I generally hate Romero zombie films..so that isn't saying much.
