it can start on the internet...but for me, meeting a person is like sealing the deal...do i like you in person or not? we can chat about all things in common all day online, but in person...if there's no chemistry, then it usually fizzles into nothing

I'll say this: it is possible to fall for someone on the Internet. Very simple to actually. However, keeping a relationship becomes almost impossible if you never meet in person.
I loved them.
I talked to them every day.
The relationship failed anyway.
Please please PLEASE whatever you do, don't make a move until you are able to use your lips, not a keyboard, to say the three magic words. Because no matter how pretty words on a paper may look, humans have a need for touch, for companionship, we need to feel physically just as much as emotionally.
It's sad and nearly sinful, but so true.
My love left me for someone tangible to them.
And I still cry myself to sleep sometimes.
Because I love them.
But it wasn't enough.
Please spare yourself the pain I've went through. Don't act on this impulse. At least, not until you can hold them and kiss them, sleep next to them and whisper 'I'll be with you forever.' with your voice, not a chat box, and mean it.
I wish you luck and love.

Yeah, I can't stand when people say it's not possible either. Like, since I didn't meet my fiance in a bar we can't be in love. Ridiculous.

I believe in love!

Love can work or not work in real life just as easily as it can work or fail on the internet.

I think you can, but once you're together in person, there's no way to go back to interacting from a distance for a long period of time. You need real plans to be together, not just wishing and hoping for the day to come.

I believe in lonely people finding things in common over the internet but I think love is something you have to discover face to face for the most part.

Why not, it's still two people meeting even though it's not in person there are still feelings and emotions... But I think that meeting is a must if you two are truly going to go places. But yes, love over the internet is definitely possible..I should know :D

Definitely.... It's just so much easier to meet people online these days anyway. I feel it is more genuine then meeting some d-bag at a bar

wow, chocolategamers answer really hit home, so very true what you said, every bit of it. i know my situation is becoming, 'the begining of the end', not because i want it to, cause i love that person and i believe he loves me too but it's because we havent met yet. words sometimes just arent enough, we need actions too :-(

I think it can happen. Online..there is no physical contact..so you have to get to know the person from the inside out.
