YEs, I got one first when I was 14 for wearing with nice evening dresses and because they are good for seamed stockings. I don't often wear one now though they do make a nice shape but I do often wear basques which are good as well but not so tight around the middle. If I was told to wear a corset I think I would because I think they are actually really feminine

Why would I want to do a thing like that?

I try to teach my daughters to love themselves, and their bodies, as they are. I don't want them to change their shape. Perhaps as a costume for a few hours a year....

When I get married and become a mom, if I have any girls they are going to grow up wearing skirts and dresses only, never jeans or pants. I'm going to teach them to always act and dress like proper young ladies. When they reach the appropriate age, they will be fitted for and wear proper foundation garments and hosiery and, like their mom, will wear a girdle and stockings on a daily basis. Perhaps when they start attending formal events, I will introduce them to corsets if one is needed under their gowns.

I think its a nice rule of skits/dresses only although a lot of people find it old fashioned. Girls do look better in skirts. At what age would you insist on hoisery? Would you have rules over hair length and style. What age for a corset?

No set age. When they want to start dressing like adult ladies, I think they'll let me know. However, the no pants rule will be enforced from day one. They are going to grow up knowing that girls must always dress like girls.

I had my first corset when I was 10 years old. I thank my grandma for doing this because now I have a small waist and an hour-glass figure. However, corsets are not for everyone though.

Yeah and the Egyptians used to wrap the babies heads so they would be cone shaped and the Japanese use to bind the girls' feet to they would stay tiny--sounds twisted to me to force a young girl to attain somebody else's idea of 'beauty'

Also skirts for girls all the time can be risky in windy weather and around gropers.
