When I discovered a one-panel comic about Taoism in the Seattle Times op-ed section in the early 1970s. This started my fascination with and research into philosophy that still continues today. I ba<x>se my interaction with others on this.<br />

When my parents split up. I decided that I was not going to live in ignorance and poverty and decided to study and do my best to climb out of the mess. Got a associate degree, then an engineering degree and a MS in engineering. Paid for it all myself. No welfare, food stamps or Obama phones for me.

I came home when I was 17 years old and found all my stuff thrown out onto the yard and a roll of hefty leaf bags on the stairs. That was a turning point.
