Any secret tips on making cornbread from packets extra yummy?

I mix a can of cream corn in it and it's not as dry and gives it extra flavor. I've also sliced onion pieces in it, but I'm weird so... ;)

trevorsdad2008	Posted Nov 4th, 2009 at 4:11PM use a iron skillet. make sure that u put lots of butter on the skillet before u put the cornbread mix in. when the cornbread is done put butter on top while it is cooling! Rated: +1Vote for this!

Whendolynn	Posted Nov 4th, 2009 at 7:44PM Preheat the skillet (if you have one) in the oven with a little oil in the bottom. When it's really hot pour the prepared mix in and it'll sizzle. When it's done it will have a killer crust on the bottom. I also add and extra egg and 2 tbsps of mayo. Rated: +1Vote for this!

Purchase corn meal, mix * 1 1/2 cups of it with... * 1 cup all-purpose flour * 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder * 1/2 teaspoon baking soda * 1/2 teaspoon salt * 1 1/4 cups buttermilk * 1/3 cup canola oil * 1 large egg Bake resulting dough for 25 minutes at 250 in a cast iron skillet. Then when it's all ready to eat, put the packets in the trash and eat the corn bread. Rated: +1Vote for this!
