I actually wrote this for myself. I intend to get serious and actually write a whole story.( Not an except or a short story.) These are the questions I would answer when writing a story. Good luck.
Where to start; Start with a defining moment in the past. What makes my characters tick?
Plot
Premise
Protagonist
antagonist
basic story line
location
time
character development: don’t be trite, if it’s expected and you’ve seen it before don’t do it. Don’t be maudlin. Don’t always have 2 obvious characters fall in love. Don’t make people sappy and pink. A little mythology goes a long way. Either have all the myths or one branch... but don’t cross your mythology. Valkerye don’t belong with Fairies. be careful with verbs. Make sure you know what they mean.
supporting characters
motivation
desc<x>riptions of scenes
opening
closing
defining moments
What makes a story interesting

I like to start with beginning and endgame. Plan out where I went them to begin and where I want them to end. Their personality and the change that they'll go through, then a couple of stuff I want them to go through or do. Then just fill in the gaps.
